H.M.S. Orpheus was one of six Odin Class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Dalmuir on 2 April, 1930 for service with the Third Submarine Flotilla on the China Station, remaining there until at least early 1933.[4]

By mid-1937, she was with the Fourth Submarine Flotilla on the China Station.[5]
