H.M.S. Northampton was one of two Nelson Class armoured cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Northampton was re-commissioned at Antigua on 16 December, 1882 as flag ship of the North America and West Indies Station.[6]

In May 1904, Captain Horsley grounded her and was reprimanded.[7]
