H.M.S. Nelson was one of two Nelson Class dreadnoughts completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

After completing trials under Captain The Hon. Matthew R. Best, the new battleship was commissioned at Portsmouth on 15 August, 1927 under the command of Captain Sidney Julius Meyrick.[7]
