H.M.S. Morea was a commercial liner converted for use as an Armed Merchant Cruiser in the Royal Navy.
Service
Morea was first employed in wartime service as a hospital ship for up to 750 patients, from 8th October, 1915. In late March 1916, she was reconfigured to serve as a troop transport until April 1918 when she was commissioned as an Armed Merchant Cruiser.[4]
Armament
As an A.M.C. she was armed with:[5]
- four 6-in guns
Other sources indicate seven 6-in guns.
