H.M.S. Mariner was one of six Mariner Class screw sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Devonport on 19 March, 1885 under command of John Durnford.[5]

Re-commissioned at Trincomalee on 10 January, 1889.[6]
