Service
On 7 July, 1919, she and L 12 were placed in submarine reserve group "D" at Portsmouth, under the collective command of Lieutenant Benjamin C. A. Tweedy and tender to Dolphin.[6] By the end of 1920, Lieutenant Theodore F. A. Voysey was in charge.[7]
In March, 1925 she, E 48 and L 12 comprised Group "D" Submarines in Reserve at Portsmouth under the command of Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Parkinson.[8]

- Lieutenant in Command Theodore F. A. Voysey, 6 December, 1920[9][10] – 30 May, 1921[11] (and also L 12, as part of Group D in reserve at Portsmouth)
- Lieutenant in Command James A. P. Blackburn, 21 June, 1921 – 19 November, 1921 (and also Group D submarines in reserve at Portsmouth)
- Lieutenant-Commander Thomas Parkinson, 20 August, 1924[12] (and also two other boats comprising Group D in reserve at Portsmouth)
