H.M.S. Kennet was one of 36 destroyers of the "River" class.

Service

In late 1905, she was one of eight destroyers in the Third Division of the Channel Fleet's Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

In mid-1913, she was serving in te Mediterranean.[9]

Under the command of Lieutenant Farrant, on 8 March, 1915, Kennet was among several destroyers that went to the aid of the mined battleship Ocean, seeing Chelmer rescue 500 men.[10]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

One source claims that Lieutenant Charles Eric Seaburne Farrant was in command on 8 March, 1915, but this seems to contradict the Navy Lists, and he seems to have been wounded just two days prior in Scorpion.[36]
