H.M.S. Kennet (1903)
Pendant Number: unknown[1]
Builder: Thornycroft[2]
Ordered: 1902-03 Programme[3]
Laid down: 5 Feb, 1902[4]
Launched: 4 Dec, 1903[5]
Commissioned: Jan, 1905[6]
Broken up: 1919[7]

H.M.S. Kennet was one of 36 destroyers of the "River" class.

Service

In mid-1913, she was serving in te Mediterranean.[8]

Under the command of Lieutenant Farrant, on 8 March, 1915, Kennet was among several destroyers that went to the aid of the mined battleship Ocean, seeing Chelmer rescue 500 men.[9]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

One source claims that Lieutenant Charles Eric Seaburne Farrant was in command on 8 March, 1915, but this seems to contradict the Navy Lists, and he seems to have been wounded just two days prior in Scorpion.[35]
