H.M.S. Hindustan was one of eight King Edward VII class battleships.  She entered service in 1906 and spent most of her service in the Great War with a shifting roster of her sisters in the Third Battle Squadron.

Service

H.M.S. Hindustan was commissioned on 22 August, 1905.[9]

As part of the Channel Fleet, Hindustan started a refit in Portsmouth in August 1908, after Battle Practice.[10]

Hindustan was assigned to the Third Battle Squadron upon its creation in May, 1912 and remained with the Squadron until March, 1918 when she was detached for miscellaneous duties "in Home Waters or on detached service". In June, 1915, she had a single month where she served as the Squadron's flagship.[11]

She re-commissioned on 18 April, 1916.[12]

Hindustan paid off on 14 May, 1918.[13]

In May, 1918, she was assigned to be an accommodation ship in Chatham-Sheerness.[14] In June, she was noted as "paid off".[15] In December, she was again providing accommodations.[16] She disappeared from The Navy List in May, 1919.
