H.M.S. Hasty was one of forty-two "A" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "27 knotter".
She was broken up before the war.
Service
Hasty carried out her gun, torpedo and circling trials at Portsmouth on 22 January 1896.[7] On 25 May, she and Charger joined the A Division of the Fleet Reserve at Portsmouth.[8]
On 25 June, Hasty received orders that she was to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1896,[9] but I cannot find reference to whom her commander was. It was, perhaps, Anthony F. Gurney, who was appointed on 23 July, but with a date of 18 August which would hint he may have taken command after the exercises.[10]
She and sixteen other destroyers of the Reserve Division arrived at Sheerness on 13 July 1905 and proceeded to Chatham.[11]
