H.M.S. Fervent was one of thirty-six 27 Knotters, a broad meta-class of early Torpedo Boat Destroyers built for the Royal Navy in the 1890s.

She was one of the few such early destroyers to serve throughout the Great War.

Construction & Service

She was one of twenty-seven T.B.Ds. of the Portsmouth Flotilla to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1909.[9]

In mid-1913, she was stationed in The Nore.[10]
