H.M.S. Esk was one of twelve Medina Class flatiron gunboats completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In mid-1884, Esk was at Hong Kong, with Gunner William Sledge appointed to her, though he was borne in Victor Emanuel and was not noted as being "in Command".

Re-commissioned at Ichang on 30 January, 1898.[3]
