H.M.S. Desperate was one of the Royal Navy's eleven "D" class destroyers.

Service

Desperate participated in the Jubilee Naval Review and possibly the Annual Manoeuvres of 1897.[8]

On 1 July 1913, she left Malta for Corfu with eight other destroyers under the lead of the torpedo gunboat Hussar.[9] On 4 July, the destroyers left Corfu for Platea, sans Hussar.[10]

In mid-1913, she was serving in the Mediterranean.[11] In November, 1913, she was ordered to return to England.[12]
