H.M.S. Constance was one of four Cambrian class light cruisers completed in 1915 and 1916.

Service

In the Battle of Jutland, she one of five light cruisers in the Fourth Light Cruiser Squadron, screening the Battle Fleet.[7]

Captain Arthur C. Strutt recommissioned at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 27 September, 1920.[8]

She re-commissioned at Devonport on 3 January, 1923 for service in the Eighth Cruiser Squadron of the North America and West Indies Station.[9]

Paid off into Dockyard Control at Chatham on 13 September, 1926.[10]

Reduced at Portsmouth on 9 March, 1931.[11]

Alterations

Constance was fitted with a director in May, 1918. This alteration required her pole mast to be replaced with a tripod mast for greater rigidity.[12]
