H.M.S. Cedric was a commercial liner, R.M.S. Cedric converted for use as an Armed Merchant Cruiser in the Royal Navy.
Service
She commissioned on either 17 November[9] or 4 December, 1914.[10]
Captain Robert Benson was chastised for grounding Cedric in the Mersey on 20 November, 1915. He was cautioned to be more careful in future.[11]
In 1916, she became a troop ship.

As an A.M.C., Cedric was armed with:[12]
