H.M.S. Bramble was one of four gunboats of the Bramble class of 1886. She was renamed Cockatrice in 1896 and sold in 1906.
There was a later gunboat named Bramble.
Service
She was commissioned at Devonport on 21 October, 1887. In 1891 she was serving on the Southeast coast of Africa.[4]

- Lieutenant & Commander Frederick G. C. Langdon, 15 May, 1889[6] – 15 October, 1891
- Lieutenant & Commander Edward H. Currey, 15 July, 1892 (appointment transferred from command of Goshawk)
- Commander Herbert N. Rolfe, 1 January, 1898[7] – 18 September, 1899 (ship now named Cockatrice)
