Service

Black Prince had her nucleus crew completed to full complement at Chatham Dockyard on 27 March, 1906, for service in the Second Cruiser Squadron.[8]

As part of the Channel Fleet, Black Prince started a refit on 29 February 1908. She was due to emerge on 29 April.[9]

Recommissioned at Portsmouth on 23 April 1912, by mid-1913 she was part of the First Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean.[10]

Radio

In mid-1913, it was decided to purchase a Type 9 Cruiser Auxiliary set for her.[11]
