H.M.S. Beagle was one of two Beagle Class screw sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

On 3 September, 1902, Beagle ran aground. A Court of Enquiry was convened and found her navigator, Lieutenant (N) Richard Horne was at fault. He was cautioned to be more careful in future. Beagle paid off on 29 July, 1904. [7]
