Service
At the outset of the war, B 9 was one of three "B" boats that embodied the submarine force of the Mediterranean Fleet.[5]
Around October, 1915, B 9 was assigned to the British Adriatic Squadron along with sisters B 7 and B 8. At a time when it coastal submarines were enjoying ever-less utility, the Adriatic was well-suited to operations by such handy boats.
