H.M.S. Archer was one of twenty-nine destroyers of the Acheron class.

Radio

Archer was one of 18 Acheron class destroyers fitted with W/T in 1912, becoming one of 123 destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[7]

Service

On commissioning at Portsmouth she joined the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla.[8]

In mid-1913, she was in the First Destroyer Flotilla.[9]

In July, 1914, Archer was serving in First Destroyer Flotilla, part of First Fleet.[10]

Immediately before the start of war, plans to fit two fairleads at the stern were deferred.[11]

She paid off at Chatham on 27 April, 1920.[12]
