H.M.S. Ambrose was a civilian vessel hired as an A.M.C. in 1914, but then purchase for use as a depot ship.

Service

Ambrose was commissioned into the Royal Navy on 10 December, 1914.[5]

Ambrose served submarines at Berehaven 1917-18 before moving to Falmouth in 1918.[6]

She re-commissioned at Hong Kong on 9 February, 1924.[7]
