H.M.S. Amazon was one of twelve destroyers of the "Tribal" class.

Service

In 1909, she became one of forty-three destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[7]

In mid-1911, she was part of the First Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet.[8]

While part of the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla, Amazon was one of four "Tribals" undergoing refit in Chatham Royal Dockyard until 8 July, 1914.[9]

On 22 October 1915, Amazon collided with a Dutch ship and Cdr. Oliphant was cautioned to be more careful in future.[10]

In 1935, her bell was one of several ships' bells the Royal Navy offered for sale to officers and others interested. It attracted a price of £1-£5, and men were to apply to win one at the fixed price, stating any special attachment or claim they had to the item(s) applied for.[11]
