H.M.S. Adamant was completed to navy order as a depot ship.

Service

Adamant served with the Eighth Submarine Flotilla at Harwich in 1914 and 1915. She later worked with submarines in the Mediterranean.[6]

She was recommissioned at Portsmouth on 5 January 1925 and sent to support the submarines of the Second Submarine Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[7]

Adamant was re-commissioned at Devonport on 12 November, 1926. By mid-1931 she was supporting the Second Submarine Flotilla.[8]
