P.00 (Jan 1918)[1]
Builder: Cammell Laird[2]
Launched: 12 Jul, 1911[3]

H.M.S. Adamant was completed to navy order as a depot ship.

Service

Adamant served with the Eighth Submarine Flotilla at Harwich in 1914 and 1915. She later worked with submarines in the Mediterranean.[6]

She was recommissioned at Portsmouth on 5 January 1925 and sent to support the submarines of the Second Submarine Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[7]

Adamant was re-commissioned at Devonport on 12 November, 1926. She supported the Second Submarine Flotilla until at least mid-1931.[8][9]

In 1935, her bell was one of several ships' bells the Royal Navy offered for sale to officers and men. It attracted a price of £1-£5, and men were to apply to win one at the fixed price, stating any special attachment or claim they had to the item(s) applied for.[10]
