Captain Guy Lushington Coleridge (15 April, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Coleridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 February, 1905.[1]

Coleridge married on 22 January, 1910. His daughter, born in April, 1911 married Commander Brooking in April, 1929.[2]

Coleridge invented a magnetic torpedo-starting mechanism around 1912. The Royal Navy tried out but decided in 1913 not to adopt it for service.[3]

Coleridge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1917.[4]

Post-War

Coleridge qualified at Cambridge as a Barrister at Law on 14 May, 1919.[5]

Coleridge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1924. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 15 April, 1934.[6]

World War II

He was appointed in command of Wildfire on 26 November, 1939.[7]
