George Henry Holden Holden

Captain George Henry Holden Holden ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy. His last name was "Wilkins" before being changed to Holden on 3 October, 1896.

Life & Career

Holden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1899.

As Lieutenant, Holden was to the destroyer Ouse on 1 January, 1906, possibly in command.^{[Fact Check]}

On 26 July, 1906, he was appointed to the destroyer Lee, also possibly in command.^{[Fact Check]}

Holden was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1912. In 1913, he began an extended series of medical examinations that focused initially on chronic gastritis and then on neurasthenia. On 12 October, 1913, he was discharged from Haslar Hospital on his being retired. On 15 October, 1914, he was surveyed for consideration of a shore appointment, but was found unfit.

Holden was promoted to the rank of Captain on 15 March, 1919, with a seniority date of 11 November, 1918 "in recognition of services rendered during the war."
