Lieutenant George Frederick Godfrey Purvis, R.N. (6 November, 1859 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Purvis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 11 July, 1882 for services at Alexandria.

Purvis was appointed to Hercules on 28 November, 1888, to join the ship at once.

Purvis was allowed to resign his commission on 6 February, 1889. In forwarding the application, his captain Claude Edward Buckle stated "it would be for the good of the service," but he did not state "that it was not on account of misconduct."
