Captain George Ellis Cave, C.B.E., R.N., Retired (4 September, 1867 – 8 May, 1938) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Clifton, Cave lost all his seniority as a Sub-Lieutenant after a Court Martial on 6 June 1889 found he had hazarded H.M.S. Surprise.

Cave was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1892.

Cave was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1901.

Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 June, 1912.

Cave was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 30 June, 1916.
