Lieutenant (retired) Frederick William Long, R.N. (11 October, 1857 – 20 December, 1925) served in the Royal Navy.

He is not the same man as Frederick William Loane.

Life & Career

Long was promoted to the rank of Boatswain on 1 May, 1891.

Long injured his shin in 1908 and was pensioned, unfit on 25 March, 1909.

Long was promoted to the rank of Chief Boatswain on 28 November, 1914.

Long was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant (retired) on 16 June 1919 in recognition of wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.

Long died of arterio sclerosis and was survived by his widow in Saltash.
