Admiral SIR Frederick Hew George Dalrymple-Hamilton, K.C.B., R.N. (27 March, 1890 – 26 December, 1974) was an officer in the Royal Navy who served in both World Wars.

Life & Career

Born in London.

Dalrymple-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1911.[1]

Dalrymple-Hamilton was appointed in command of the destroyer Murray on 1 March, 1918.[2]

Dalrymple-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1919.

Dalrymple-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924.

Commander Dalrymple-Hamilton was appointed to the flotilla leader Keppel on 10 February, 1925 and remained with her as she neared completion at Portsmouth, but it is not clear whether he commissioned her.[3]

Dalrymple-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1931.

Dalrymple-Hamilton served as captain of the battleship Rodney from November 1939 until he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July, 1941.

Dalrymple-Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 June, 1944.
