Francis Powell

Admiral SIR Francis Powell, K.C.M.G., C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (15 September, 1849 – 5 October, 1927) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 5 February, 1872, Powell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 6 February of that year.[1]

Powell was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1889.[2]

Powell was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 8 February, 1907, vice Bruce.[3] He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 13 February.[4]
