Lieutenant-Commander Francis Gordon Stewart, R.N. (14 August, 1886 – 5 June, 1916) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Stewart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1908.

Silvertop was appointed to the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Hampshire on 18 February, 1916. Stewart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1916 and fought in the Battle of Jutland aboard Hampshire. He died just days later when she struck a mine and was lost north of the Orkneys.

His body was recovered, however, and he was buried at Hoy Cemetery.
