Ernest Kirkbank Irving

Captain R.N.R. (retired) Ernest Kirkbank Irving, D.S.C., (8 September, 1881 – 7 April, 1945) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Irving was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 28 May, 1913.[1]

In January 1917, Irving was cautioned after a collision between Bittern and Template:UK-T104. Later that year, he received the Admiralty's appreciation for salvaging S.S. Lepanto.[2]

Post-War

Irving was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 28 May, 1921.[3]

Irving was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1925.[4]

Irving was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 8 September, 1931.[5]
