Lieutenant-Commander Ernest Edward Lowe, D.S.C., (12 October, 1866 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Gunner Lowe was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross on 1 July, 1901, in recognition of his services in South Africa.[1]

Lowe was specially promoted to Chief Gunner specially for War Services in South Africa on 20 April, 1910.[2]

He was promoted to Lieutenant on 27 June, 1912.[3]

Lowe was appointed in command of the destroyer Velox on 9 March, 1914.[4]

On 29 July, 1914, he was appointed in command of the submarine Spiteful.[5]

On 12 December, 1914, he was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 116, remaining in her through the end of the war.[6]
