Admiral Ernest Alfred Simons, Royal Navy (3 September, 1856 – 30 August, 1928) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Simons was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 24 May, 1877.[1]

Simons was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1890.[2]

Simons was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1896.[3]

On 7 July, 1903, Simons was appointed in command of the battleship Illustrious.[4]

On 1 January, 1906, Simons was appointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp to King Edward VII, vice Login.[5]

Simons was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1907, vice Lambton.[6]

Simons was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 27 August, 1911, vice Charles Grey Robinson.[7] He was promoted to the rank of Admiral dated 24 October, 1914,[8] and placed on the Retired List on 24 October, 1915.[9]

He died in London on 30 August, 1928 a few days shy of his seventy-second birthday.
