Edward William Blackwood Ryan

Lieutenant Edward William Blackwood Ryan, R.N. (6 August, 1887 – 3 July, 1916) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Strangford, Downpatrick.
Ryan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1908.[1]
Ryan was appointed in command of the submarine C 3 on 8 February, 1913.[2]
On 31 October, 1914, he was appointed in command of the submarine D 1.[3]
Ryan was to die in command of E 26 when she was lost to unknown causes near the German coast in early July, 1916.[4] The Admiralty's official date for his death was recorded as 6 July.
