Life & Career

Eastwick-Field was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1912.[1]

Post-War

Eastwick-Field was appointed in command of the destroyer leader Hardy on 28 December, 1918.[2]

Eastwick-Field was appointed in command of the destroyer Scimitar on 21 June, 1920.[3]

He was superseded in his last sea-going command in the "R" Class destroyer Tempest on 5 August, 1931 and was appointed to the light cruiser Despatch on the 13th. On 5 August, 1932, after paying off and de-storing Despatch, he was sent to join Centurion. He was superseded in her on 7 November.[7]

Eastwick-Field was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 18 May, 1933.[8]

World War II

Eastwick-FIeld applied for re-entry into the navy in 1936 and in 1938 further informed them of his services being available. He was granted retrospective permission to join the International Board for non-Intervention in Spain on Observer II later that year.

On 28 September, 1939 he was temporarily appointed to the Sea Transport Cutter Southampton. On 14 October, he was made Deputy Assistant Censor, Information Section vice Fisher, temporary.

On 18 June 1941 he was appointed to work with the D.O.D. (H), temporary, vice Whitehead.[9]
