Rear-Admiral SIR Edward Chichester, Ninth Baronet, C.B., Royal Navy (20 November, 1849 – 17 September, 1906) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

For services rendered during the operations in Egypt, Chichester was specially promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 18 November, 1882.[1]

He was appointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp to the Queen dated 25 August, 1899, vice Watson.[2]

On 6 November, 1900, for his services in South Africa, Chichester was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[3]

He was reappointed a Naval Aide-de-Camp, to King Edward VII, on 25 February, 1901.[4]

Chichester was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 January, 1902, vice Fanshawe.[5] He was appointed to succeed Vice-Admiral William Acland as Admiral-Superintendent at Gibraltar on 10 June, 1904.[6]
