Captain Douglas Faviell, M.V.O., D.S.O., O.B.E., Royal Navy (25 November, 1884 – 15 July, 1947) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

On 9 March, 1906, he was confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, dated 15 August, 1904.[1]

Faviell was appointed as Lieutenant & Commander of the destroyer Banshee on 19 August, 1910.[2]

He was appointed in commanded of the speedy destroyer Oak on 13 November 1912,[3] remaining with her throughout the entire war, through to the surrender of the High Sea Fleet on 21 November, 1918.[Citation needed]

Faviell was placed on the retired list at his own request with the rank of Captain on 19 June, 1931, after thirty-two years in the Royal Navy.
