Lieutenant-Commander SIR David Charles Herbert Dalrymple, Second Baronet, R.N., Emergency List (29 March, 1879 – 1932) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in London, the son of Sir Charles Dalrymple, M.P., David gained six months' time on passing out of Britannia.

Dalrymple was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1901.

Dalrymple was appointed in command of the destroyer Fairy on 1 February, 1905.[1]

In July or August of 1905, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Ostrich.[2]

Dalrymple was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1909.

Dalrymple was appointed to the armoured cruiser Monmouth on the China Station on 12 March, 1910. He was tried by Court Martial on 27 February 1911 for improperly leaving Monmouth, Dalrymple was sentenced to be severely reprimanded and dismissed his ship.

He resigned his commission on 28 April, 1911.
