Rear-Admiral Cyril Herbert Gordon Benson, D.S.O., R.N. (17 February, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Borin in Myrtlehurst, Croyden, Benson gained two and a half months' time on passing out of Britannia.

Benson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 March, 1906.[1]

Benson was awarded the Shadwell Testimonial in 1910 for a survey conducted in Algerine of the area from Punta de Parinas[?] to Punto Lobos.[2]

Benson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 March, 1914.[3]

Benson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.[4]

Post-War

Benson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1924.[5]

Benson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral in January, 1936.[6]

World War II
