Commander (retired) Cuthbert Morgan Murphy, R.N. (24 March, 1886 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career
Born in Ashton, Cork.
Murphy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1908.
Murphy was appointed Lieutenant & Commander of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 050 on 2 December, 1909.[1]
Murphy was granted the acting rank of Flight Lieutenant 20 November, 1914 and sent to Pembroke III to report to the Air Department for service with the R.N.A.S.. He was sent to the [[Central Flying School on 1 December.
Murphy was confirmed in the rank of Flight Lieutenant on 19 March, 1915.
Promoted to the rank of Flight Commander 1 January, 1916 and granted the acting rank of Squadron Commander on 28 September, 1916.
Murphy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander and Squadron Commander on 31 December, 1916.
Post-War
Retired at his own request on 24 July 1919, Murphy was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 24 March, 1926.
The Navy was unable to locate him in 1939.
