Captain (retired) Colin John Lawrence Bittleston, C.B.E., D.S.C., (23 may, 1893 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Son of Colonel G. H. Bittleston, Royal Artillery. He gained one months' time on passing out of the Training Establishment.
Bittleston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1916.[1]
Bittleston was promoted to Midshipman on 15 January, 1911.[2]
Bittleston was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the patrol boat P48 on 30 April, 1918.[3]
Post-War
Bittleston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1924.[4]
Bittleston was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1928.[5]
World War II
Bittleston was granted the acting rank of Captain on 15 November, 1939.[6]
Bittleston was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 23 May, 1943.[7]
Bittleston reverted to the Retired List on 29 March 1946.[8]
