Admiral Charles Pipon Beaty-Pownall, C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (1 January, 1872 – 17 August, 1938) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

On 21 July, 1892 he was confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, dated 14 August, 1891.[1]

Beaty-Pownall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1905.[2]

He was appointed in command of Perseus on 26 February, 1910.[3]

Beaty-Pownall was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1913.[4]

At some point, he commanded Terrible.[Fact Check]

In September 1913, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Doris.[5]

In May 1914, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Challenger.[6]

Upon leaving Challenger, he was appointed in command of Cumberland on 27 November, 1914.[7]

He assumed command of the battleship Colossus on 15 November, 1917.[8]

Beaty-Pownall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 5 April, 1928, vice Field.[9] He was placed on the Retired List on 6 April.[10]
