Commander R.N.R. Charles Lawrence Cutsforth, R.D. (20 June, 1890 – 18 April, 1933) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Cutsforth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 November, 1916.[1]

Cutsforth was appointed in command of the destroyer Desperate on 3 April, 1918.[2]

Post-War

Demobilised on 5 April, 1919.

Cutsforth was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 November, 1924.[3]

In April, 1932, Cutsforth served for just two weeks in H.M.S. Witch on the China Station. Commander Lawrence Frederick Nelson Ommanney offered him a special recommendation for promotion, which Captain (D), Eighth Destroyer Flotilla Robert Lindsay Burnett echoed. Accordingly, Cutsforth was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1932.[4]

Cutsforth died in 1933 at the General Hospital at Johor, Bahru (or possibly in Basra... hard to read).
