Leading Signalman Charles Farmer (3 February, 1894 – ?) was one of the only three survivors of H.M.S. Indefatigable when that ship sank at the Battle of Jutland in 1916.
Life & Career
Farmer had light brown hair, grey eyes and a fair complexion and bore a tatoo of crossed hands and heart, and the words "true love" on his right forearm.
Appointed to Indefatigable as an Ordinary Signalman on 25 January, 1913, he was promoted to Leading Signalman on 1 April, 1915..
Charles Farmer was a signaller numbered J8713.
Farmer returned to naval service after being repatriated, but was invalided on 5 November 1919 with astigmatism.
