Captain Charles Edward Le Mesurier, C.B., Royal Navy (2 August, 1869 – 10 November, 1917) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Le Mesurier was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 November, 1890.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1902.[2]

Le Mesurier was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1908.[3]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Jupiter in July, 1914.[4]

Great War

He was appointed command of the battleship Cornwallis on 16 September, 1914.[5]

At the Battle of Jutland, he was in command of Calliope, and apparently had someone take a photograph of Invincible.[6]

On 15 September 1916 he was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) dated 31 May.[7]
