Lieutenant-Commander Charles Edward Collins, (2 February, 1863 – 9 May, 1925) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Collins spent 1901 to 1903 in the battleship Majestic. From then through 1919, he worked at the Portsmouth Signal School.

Collins was promoted to the rank of Signal Boatswain on 9 May, 1890.

He was made Chief Signal Bosun on 26 June, 1902.

Collins was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 January, 1905.

Collins was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 January, 1913.

Barrie Kent believes that Collins was made Captain of the Signal School in 1915. I presume this was a temporary appointment.

Collins was placed on the Retired List on 1 August, 1919. For some reason, this was antedated to some time in February, 1918.
