Vice-Admiral (retired) Cecil Horace Pilcher, D.S.O., R.N. (1 July, 1887 – 4 February, 1953) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Pilcher gained ten months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Pilcher was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October, 1899.
Pilcher was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1912.
Pilcher was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1917.
Post-War
Pilcher was appointed in command of the battleship Orion on 20 December, 1918.[1]
Pilcher was appointed in command of the light cruiser Dauntless on 28 May, 1919.[2]
On 1 October, 1922, Pilcher was appointed in command of the steam pinnace Malabar and in charge of H.M. Naval Establishments, Bermuda.[3]
In 1927, Pilcher was appointed in command of the battleship Emperor of India.
Pilcher was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 April, 1928 and placed on the Retired List the following day at his own request.
Pilcher was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) on 2 January, 1933.
World War II
Died of a cardiac infarction.
