Admiral SIR Cecil Halliday Jepson Harcourt, G.B.E., K.C.B., R.N. (11 April, 1892 – 19 December, 1959) served in the Royal Navy.

In April 1913, he altered his last name to Harcourt Morris. In May 1920, he altered it back to Harcourt.

Life & Career

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1913.

Post-War

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1921.

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1926.

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1933.

In 1935, Harcourt was nominated to succeed Austen Gerald Lilley for loan to the Royal Australian Navy.[1]

World War II

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 28 July, 1942.

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 February, 1946.

Harcourt was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 22 June, 1949.
